Caves are one of humanity’s oldest dwelling places and have been home to many of our ancestors. Wonderwerk Cave is no exception to the dwellings of our ancestors. Within this cave archeologist found the earliest evidence of our ancestors Home erectus using fire.
Archeologist unearthed the remains of a campfire that appeared to be from a million years ago. This provided evidence to an ongoing debate on the “influence of fire, particularly cooking,” on the evolution of our species large brains. |
